also, asking the rhetorical question, "do those collage students really expect to have $7000/month in disposable income when they get out of collage?" I was referring to the first month after collage, not five years down the road. Also, you should know that many habits that stick your whole life are developed in collage, so if before they go out spending all their money on doodads, they should really consider the long-term consequences of their actions

I don't have much money either, and even if you make more than $2000/month total, most of that money goes to rent (or mortgage, if you own a house) and to paying off bad debt such as credit cards. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but I said "I don't know of any collage student with over $7 thousand", you missed a zero. But aside from that, the point I was making is that young people my age typically don't think before getting a credit card and that's not something schools teach, so I decided not to go to collage full time, plus, I think it's just a "resume spice", collage doesn't teach many of the things you need to learn to be rich or to do well with anything. In theory, they teach you how to do things, but they don't teach you how to succeed with the information they do give you or even how to apply it in the real world (in other words, they teach you what to think without teaching you how to think for yourself)

thanks,

Ben

Hello Ben:

I'm just now starting out even though I'm 49 years old. I've always had an aversion to employment, but never really knew why. I've also had serious setbacks in my life with people skills. So consequently I'm socially retarded, but slowly coming out of that. I have read the book RichDadPoorDad and found it to be astounding and eye-opening! The Internet is the one greatest factor in my life that has cracked the shell I'm now emerging from. I like your blog and will be looking from time to time. In my case, insofar as budgeting is concerned, I simply do not have enough income to budget properly in the first place. $700 per month is not a lot to do anything with! I am doing everything in my power to gain in the right kind of knowledge without having to pay a lot for it. In fact, I have to rely on free and very low-cost resources. It is not easy to find without lots of searching. My budgeting problem does not come from not knowing where to put my money, I just don't have enough of it. I would share more of my thoughts on this, but for now I have an incredible amount of work to do. I will be returning however

Hi Ben:

Just came over from @RossGoldberg's Virtual Masters Seminar.

I know your example was hypothetical, but...

In my opinion, telling the customer to put the bug spray in a "separate bag" -- IS A GOOD THING! It is not necessarily their way... They may have been distracted when packing and not even realized what they were doing. They might have been truly happy to have someone alert them.

I get annoyed when my "none food" items wind up in the food bags. Also when my bread is smashed in between cans! :)

I get your point though. Sometimes the customer is NOT always right and would like someone to tell them!

Have a great day.
